The ability to recruit the right people at the right time is vital if your tech startup/ scaleup is to realise its growth ambitions. When you need to hire, you’ve got a couple of options (we’ve taken doing it yourself off the table as you’ve hopefully realised this isn’t a good use of your time).


Your first option is to use a recruitment agency. If you’ve done so before, you’re likely to have had a mixed experience at best (our opinion is that the traditional agency ‘No win, no fee’ contingency model is seriously flawed).


Your second option is to hire an internal recruiter. This may be a good tactic if you’re hiring for 10-15 vacancies per annum over the next couple of years, but otherwise it’s simply not going to be cost effective. This is because you’ll not only need to cover their salary and associated employment costs but also a plethora of recruitment tools/ resources; you'll be staggered to learn the cost of a LinkedIn recruiter licence alone.
